In 2014, Ho Guom Group ventured into the emerging field of High-tech clean agriculture with a green perilla farm of Japanese export grade, fully equipped with modern machinery to the infamously high standards of Japan. The farm is located in Bac Ninh province with a total investment of more than 150 billion VND (approximately 6.5 million USD) as the first ever Vietnam exporter of “super-clean” fresh produce to the Japanese market, notoriously known for its strict regulations of foods and fresh produce in particular. This outstanding achievement of Ho Guom Group is praised by the media as breaking the glass ceiling and a testament to Vietnam's potential and capability in high-quality agriculture. Exporting high-quality fresh produce to Japan has marked a new height for Ho Guom Group in the opportune agricultural field, and opened the door to potential markets for other promising produce.
Following Bac Ninh’s success, the Group continues to expand its agriculture venture by investing in other areas, including Ho Guom – Song Am farm, located in the Ngoc Lac district of Thanh Hoa province, with an area of nearly 1000 hectares currently cultivating seedless lychee, red dragon fruit, and Hass avocado – a variety of avocados with high contents of essential oils and nutrients. The first crop has started to bear fruit and is ready to be exported to Israel and the EU. Ho Guom – Hoang Lan farm, located in Bao Thang district of Lao Cai province has an area of nearly 600 hectares cultivating fruits with high export potential such as pineapple, pomelo (red) and orange.
Ho Guom – Ha Giang farm in Bac Me district has an area of more than 300 hectares cultivating fruit trees such as banana, ruby grapefruit, orange, and cinnamon. In addition, the Group has also started the construction of an agriculture processing factory in Dinh Quan district of Dong Nai province. In line with the growth prospects of high-quality agriculture export, Ho Guom Group intends to build up its agriculture arm into one of the Group’s main forces.
